Eligibility
To be eligible to receive a NHSF scholarship, a student must demonstrate
academic potential and financial need; must be a resident of New Haven
graduating from a New Haven public high school or Eli Whitney Regional
Vocational Technical School. The student must also complete the NHSF
application available through the Guidance Departments at their high school;
have a college or other accredited school acceptance, and participate in an
interview with a Director of NHSF.

About the Awards
Contributions in the past year have come from individuals , corporations and
organizations in the Greater New Haven area and beyond. The Board of
Directors also raises funds through their own contributions and those of other
individuals and business enterprises. The NHSF has one endowment dedicated
to students pursuing a career in education; another specifically for multi-year
awards, and endowments funded each year by family and friends of a named
donor.
Awards are paid directly to the colleges and schools upon submission of the
tuition bill to NHSF. Mult-year awards are available to students who are prior
recipients, who complete the present academic year, and meet the criteria of
academic potential and financial need.
