| Endowment Funds At present the New Haven Scholarship Fund has two endowment funds, the Spear Fund and the Lovell Fund. The Spear Fund was established when a long time supporter, New Haven teacher Rhoda Spear, passed away and named the NHSF as a primary beneficiary of her estate. The money from that generous bequest was to go to students who are planning to follow a career in education. The money is used for both first year students and for those continuing beyond the first year. The Lovell Fund is named in honor of our founder, Jean Lovell. Her passion and vision was responsible for creating the organization that continues to this day. The monies from this Fund are used for non-education students continuing beyond their first year in college. You may contribute to either Fund by indicating your desire on your gift check. |
